THE SINGING BELLES(Madison Records)

Sisters Anne and Angela Berry from Brooklyn, NY. attended Lafayette High School in Brooklyn where they entertained their fellow students singing and participating in school parties, when they finished their degree they decided to sing professionally, they recorded two songs "The Empty Mailbox" / "Someone Loves You, Joe" that presented to Larry Uttal owner of Madison records who signed them and released the songs in 1960.

The B-side was a local hit and Charted at # 91 on Billboard Hot 100 in April 1960. Which led the girls to tour with Alan Freed. This group were backed by The Fireflies of Ribbon Records.(see in this blog) In the summer of 1960 they released their second and last single with the songs "High Noon / Oh Happy Day" this time without any success which made the girls soon disappear from the music scene.
