This was a group from a small town in southwestern PA, called Burgettstown, not far from Pittsburgh. Buddy was a friend of my father. Woody Machek (sp) was also a member of this group. Buddy passed away from cancer a while ago. This group made the rounds of the local dance clubs and had a pretty good following, including myself.
Really I don't know why Buddy Sharpe & The Shakers were present in ALL the doo wop guides.
