Bobby "Boris" Pickett From Somerville in Massachetts returned to the United States after serving in Korea, he moved to Hollywood because he wanted to be an actor and a comedian, there he acted in various clubs as a comedian and participated in various horror movies.

He unsuccessfully tried his luck as a singer and joined Leonard "Lenny" Capizzi, Bill Capizzi, Ron Deltorto and Lou Toscano who had a vocal group called The Cordials.

The Capizzi brothers had written two songs that they presented to producer Gary Paxton, he liked the songs because being a white group they sounded like they were sung by a black group, he decided to record them and so in 1961 "" Eternal Love / The International Twist " by The Cordials were released on the Reveille record label.

Gary continued to be interested in the group and arranged another recording session for them this time with a surf adaptation of the song "Quarter to Three" previously recorded by Gary US Bonds.

"Quarter To Four Stomp / Foolish One" was released in 1962 by the Landa records label but under the name The Stompers.

After these two recordings Bobby and Leonard wrote "Moster Mash" which Bobby recorded alone. This song was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on October 20–27 of 1962, just before Halloween.
