THE CHEERS_Bazoom(I Need Your Lovin)



Vocal trio(not in the doo wop guides) from Los Angeles consisting of actor Bert Convy,Gil Garfield and Sue Allen.


In 1954 charted #15 with the tune_Bazoon(I Need Your Lovin). one of the first hits written by the team Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller and one of the first rockin hits by a white vocal group(after of The Crew Cuts).

In September,1955 charted #6 with the side_Black Denim Trousers (a popular side about a wild-living leather jacketed motorcyclist covered in french by Eddie Piaf as_L'homme A La Moto).

Leiber & Stoller used the group to sing demo records they have written and many of the sides recorded by the group on Capitol were Leiber & Stoller composition,the group disbanded in 1957 and Bert Convy recorded as a solo artist by Contender Records_The Monster's Hop/The Gorilla. and became an actor and TV showman(with his show "Tattletales" )with a nomination for an Emmy in 1990,he died on July 1991 of a brian tumor at age of 1957.
