Hi! I am Richie Grasso 2nd Tenor in the Concepts which was our first group with me, Frankie & Nicky Pescatore, later Tex Barrett and Johnny Reds, our ballad singer! So to clarify, when we backed up Dean (F.Pescatore)Randolph, Tex had already left the group! Joining after was our new member, Sal Dupree aka Sal Amorello who is singing a "Silver Tenor" with the female singers who were also on that date! That high male voice that dominates the background is Sal Dupree! Sal was the new lead singer in our group which we re-named "The 5 Classics" See "Magic Star" on Rode Records! Or go to Mr. Mint on YouTube for a full story and listen to "Magic Star" a song that Sal wrote! Today Sal has a practice in Linwood, N.J. teaching Voice, and has had tremendous success as a Vocal Coach, has trained over 14 'ANNIE'S' on Broadway! Google for more info! Also google me Richie Grasso co-wrote, "Sweet Cherry Wine" with Tommy James 1969. Or Tom Meros interview, Sweet Cherry Wine on YouTube!Today, Frank Pescatore is still my Best Friend yes! Forever!

My Best Buddy from age 0 as we were born 27 days apart!
Miss him terribly! He got us, The 5 Classics, to back him up on "False Love". Myself, His Brother Nickie, Sal Dupree,Jimmy Sofia and my cousin Vinny Sorge. His parents were my Godparents. Our Mothers were Best Friends pregnant with us at the same time of course. Frankie gave me my first note to create harmony, 2nd Tenor, gave Nickie the note under me, then topped us with his 1st Tenor! That was it, I was hooked! This comes shortly after we listened to Tony & The Twilights who were singing on the street corner of 9th & Greenwich! We were ten! Tony Barbella of that group heard us singing "Tra La La" took us aside and taught us individual parts separately, we added my cousin Vince as a 4th part, and it really blew our minds as it was the Four Freshman song, "It's A Blue World"! That was it! Sincerely, Richie Grasso
