DICKY DELL & THE BING BONGS aka THE BING BONGS aka THE TROYS.

In 1958 Michael J. Rampino with some friends formed the vocal group The Troys (Name derived from The street corner they first started to sing on in Brooklyn NY. The corner of Troy ave and Schenectady boulevard). they recorded two songs and presented them to the record label Dragon records.

The record label liked the two songs, and thinking that the first one could be a success with another leading voice, they called a singer named Dicky Dell to re-record it with the group.

At the end of 1958 Dragon records  published the two songs under the name of Dicky Dell & The Bing Bongs for the A side 'Ding-A-Ling-A-Ling-Ding-Dong' and only as The Bing Bongs for B side 'The Cling'.

In 1959 the manager of the group sold the demos of those two songs originally recorded by The Troys to the Okeh label released them this year.
