A BLACK GROUP IN THIS BLOG ?

As I Promised, here another black group with a white doo wop sound...

THE CHANTS on Pye (UK Label) and Cameo (US label) Records were listed in some guides as a white group ( as the Lou Silvani's book).

But The Chants were a black group from Liverpool in England (The house of The Beatles!) formed by Eddie Amoo, Eddie Ankrah, Joe Ankrah , Alan Fielding and Nat Smedo.

In 1963-64 they recorded the doo wop sides...

-I Don’t Care / Come Go With Me. Pye Records-1963. (Cameo-1963).
- I Could Write A Book / A Thousand Stars . Pye Records-1964. (Cameo-1964).
- She’s Mine / Then I’ll Be Home. Pye Records-1964.
- Sweet Was The Wine / One Star. Pye Records-1964.

Their version of the classic_A Thousand Stars. have a nice white doo wop sound...
