THE RUE-TEENS aka THE RU-TEENS

Group from Tremont Avenue in the Bronx,NY. consisted of Jimmy Appollo(Lead),Joe"Pepe" Contaldi(Baritone),Joe Foti(2nd Tenor) and Frankie Bujosa(1st Tenor).

Jimmy  Recorded with Jimmy & The Crestones(see in this blog) and Joe Foti occasionaly singing with The group when Jerry droped out for his military obligations.


They recorded with music in 1964 for Louis Records as The Rue-Teens_Lucky Boy/I Don't Cry Over Girls.(Tommy Cosgrove, the rock guitarist (Brethren, Dr. John, Todd Rundgren) plays Lead Guitar along with the original members of The Elegant 4 Billy,Jay and Dennis).

Probably this group recorded the unreleased sides_Bad Girl/Dance With Me. for Lou Cicchetti's Cousins Records finally issued on Crystal Ball Lp 124(1978).

Actually, the Rue Teens consisted of Frank Bujosa on 2nd Tenor, and Jerry McGregor on 1st Tenor. Joe Foti did at some point replace both Frank and Jerry at various times. Joe recorded the Adams Sour Gum commercials with them and various other recordings. Jimmy and Joe were original members of Jimmy and the Crestones(Angel Maureen/New Girl. Jimmy has been performing with various groups over the years, most recently with the Clusters (Darling Ca'nt You Tell) and left the group late last year

almost right. i replaced jerry when he joined the navy.i did all the old timer recordings.joe replaced me in 1967 its joes name on the album jerrys picture and my voice on the old timer records. me and jimmy sang together 5 years agobefore he joined the clusters. armond(mondo)

Another 'almost right'...Joe "Peppi" Contaldi. Easy mistake, but one that used to annoy him to no end (from the wife to whom he complained about it constantly).
