THE FABULOUS FREMONTS...Valerie records


Latin group from Pueblo, Colorado formed in the early 60's by Irene Chavez (with the help of his singer mom who be his manager) with Henry Garcia on lead guitar, Vic Macheto on saxophone and John Rivera on drums.

They took their name from La Vegas night club "The Fremont", in 1964 their manager send the group to Valerie Records (the Band Box subsidiary) for an auddition, the label signed the band and recorded many demos and finally released in 1964 on Valerie's the sides " / Watermelon Man.


The A side is a popish tune very popular in the Colorado area and charted #38 on the local charts and is present in the jeff Kreiter Vocal group guide.

After this recording Vic and John left the group and join, John Trujillo, the band continue perform as a trio under the name of The Fremonts.
