DEBBIE & THE DIPLOMATS...Stepheny records

Popish white group from Chicago, Illinois formed in the mid-50's by Debbie Kelly (Soprano), Mel Johnson, Howard Berhalter (Baritone) and Bert Steling (Tenor).

They had a great reputation in the Indianpolis area and they work a lot as vocal support for other singers or orchestras. All this activity led them to be signed by the Evanston record label in Illinois, Stepheny records where in 1958 they recorded the songs "Unchangeable Heart / Burnin 'The Torch" present in all doo wop music guides.

After this recording without any repercussion, the group continued singing and performing in venues until 1962 when they finally separated.
