THE GOTHICS aka THE GOTHIC'S


The Gothics or Gothic's were a white group from the Whitestone section of Queens, NY. consisted (today only two members of the group were know) of Mike Franco ( "Lead), Nicholas Santelli (Bass). they signed with Bayside, Queens, New York record entrepreneur Jerry Love. Jerry owned a record store in Bayside, and Produced/managed a number of vocal groups.

In 1959 the group recorded as The Gothics for Dynamic records the sides "Marilyn / Sunday Kind Of Love" and in 1961 ”Love You Too Much / My Dream” On Carol records as The Gothic's.

Their manager, Jerry liked the vocal  sound of the Aquatones or Rosie & The originals with a famale lead and added to the group Stephanie Adessa (see top picture) and they recorded as Stephanie & The Gothic's one side for Shelley records in 1961 "Oh Happy Day" the other side of the 45 rpm "I’ll String Along With You" is without group.

The group have 1960/61 unreleased sides as "Poor Billy / Lucky Old Sun / Valley Of Tears (Carol) / Raid Sails In The Sunset (Carol) / The ABC’s Of Love.

Mike Franco recorded as a solo artist for Duel records "Humma-Humma-Hummin' Bird / Leave My Past Behind.
