THE CASUALS.
Band from Nasville,TN formed by Buzz Cason (Vocalist) ,Richard Williams
(Vocalist / Pianist ) ,Chester Powers (Accordionist / Pianist) ,Bill
Smith (Drummer) ,Johnny McCreery (Guitarist) and Joe Watkins
(Saxophonist).they were considered the Nashville's first rock & roll
band,produced by the team Ken Moffett and Noel Ball(see The Crescendos
in this blog).
In 1957 recorded in the Moffet & Ball label Nu-Sound Records the sides_My Love Song For You/Help Me. the A Side written by Carson and Williams was very popular and the disc was sold to Dot Records who re-released the two sides this same year.

Also in 1957 the Dot label released the sides_Till You Come Back/Hello Love.

Witout success the band become a touring act replacing The Everly Brothers on a tour of 60 fair dates, Manager Dub Albritton contracted the band as "the Brends lee's backup band" and singing with "Lilltle Miss Dynamite" for many years.see below picture...

THE STATUES.
Later the California Liberty Label signed "Buzz" as a member of a vocal group called THE STATUES and consisted of James "Buzz" Cason and Richard Williams from The Casuals with Hugh Jarrett of The Jordanaires.
They have a small Hit (#84) in 1960 with the Tony Bennett's (1951)/classic_Blue Velvet.

Liberty also decided to re-name Buzz "Gary Miles" and recorded to The Statues as GARY MILES with THE STATUES.

Additional Note....
-Look for a Star. is original from British Soundtrack recording by Garry Mills from "Circus Of Horrors". It hit the US charts first, followed by a nearly identical recording by Garry MILES. The only discernible difference is the original has horns on the bridge instead of a chorus( I have read that the record company had Buzz release the song under the name "Garry Miles" to create confusion with the original British version by Garry Mills).
