In 1962 Royden Dickey Lipscomb aka Dickey Lee from Memphis have a hit (#6) with the teenage love song_Patches.but before in 1957 he recorded some nice Doo wop songs.
Their first recording was in 1957 in the California based label Tampa Records owened by Robert Scherman and Irving Shorten with the Rock & Roll side_Stay True Baby. and the doo wop side_Dream Boy. in these two tunes he have to The Collegiates as back up group.

This same year of 1957 Dickey signed for the Memphis label Sun Records and recorded their best doo wop single with the uptempo side_Dreamy Nights.

In 1962 Dickey recorded their Hit for Smash Records and in this label also recorded a Dion sound-a-like tune_I Saw Linda Yesterday.(this tune charted #14 in the late 1962).
