When the group enjoyed great popularity, suddenly the death of its leader came, Lenny Colton, according to investigations, fell asleep in his garage at the wheel of his car and dead suffocated from carbon monoxide.

The Aanko records label wanted to maintain the popularity of the name and had one of their black groups, The Camelots perform under the name The Cupids.

At the end of 1963 the original three members of the group  with Henry Jensen as new lead voice recorded "Lorraine / Little Girl Of Mine" on MusicNote and "Pretty-Baby / Lets Rock" on Time Square in 1964.
