THE JAYWALKERS...Pam & Selsom records

The Jaywalkers were one of the first rock and roll bands from Asbury Park, New Jersey and forerunners of the Jersey Shore sound. Started by high school classmates in Manasquan, New Jersey in 1958.

The founding members were John Shaw (drums), Jim “Jack Valentine” Cattanach (guitar and vocals), John “Cos” Consoli (saxophone and vocals), and Bob Carlson (bass).

They are present in the doo wop guides with...

-Oh Babe / My Bonnie. Pam records-1962. In 1966 re-released on the Laurie label with the sides "Love At First Sight / Oh Babe".

-I Do / I Got My Own Goin. Selsom records-1966.

These two sides don't have a doo wop sound.
