I know the name of this group The Blue Tones and their members;Mickey Kirkpatrick, Myron Murry,Danny Ornung and Jimmy Theros. I also know they’re from Indianapolis or the surrounding area.What area of the city they’re from? Did they ever record? What did they sound like?.

Gary Gillespie from Indianaoplis is present in the Jeff Kreiter's vocal group record guide with his 45_Honest I Do/Dancing Girl. recorded in 1962 on the Delta label

As you can see in the picture label the instrumental band was The Playboys and the back up group The Galaxies.

THE TRI-LITES_Hot Dog! Here He Comes

The Tri-Lites were present in the Jeff Kreiter's vocal group record guide with their 1963 Enith single_Will Tommorrow Be Just Another Day/Hot Dog! Here He Comes.

The trio was formed by sisters Mona and Bonnie Donato and Ron Andre, from Sacramento (Ron and Bonnie were married in 1969) the trio recorded in 1963 two singles for Enith International_Will Tomorrow Be Just Another Day/Hot Dog, Here He Comes. and_Your Lookin' At My Guy/Owee Owee. as THE TRI-LITES.


The masters of the last single was sold to KAPP and they changed the name to THE WEST WINDS and re-released in 1964 _Your Lookin' At My Guy/Owee Owee.

 A new 45 RPM was released on Enith Records_You Know I'll Miss You/What A Kiss That Was. now  with their new name of The West Winds.

After these recordings they signed with Valiant Records and produced by Barry Devorzon released in 1966 _Silver & Sunshine.(written by the Adrissi Brothers who also wrote classic_Never My Love) and _Love Is Not Everything. as THE LOOKING GLASS.

Valiant sold out to Warner Brothers and they kept The Association and The Looking Glass (not Brandy Looking Glass) released in 1967 _Lonely Stranger/If I Never Love Again.In this time Linda Donato replaced Mona who was married.

Carlo,was 24 years his birthday is October,5.Carlo is 6 feet tall and weighs 175 poinds,with dark brown hair and eyes he lives at home in the bronx with five sisters Margie,Anna,Martha,Caroline and Rosa and one brother,Gregg. his favorite food is ravoli and his favorite perfomer is Frank Sinatra.Jazz and baseball are his hobbies.Carlo play the guitar and the drums(before teamed The Belmonts he have his own band,he was a professional drumer).

These songs were recorded on May 14, 1959 in Nasville, Tennessee with John Lewis "Johnny Carroll" Carrell (Vocal-Guitar), Howard Reed (Lead Guitar), Grady Owen (Fender Bass Guitar), Royce MacAffe (Drums) and Bill Hennen (Piano).

On this record they don't really have a doo wop sound.

THE PLEDGES aka CHUCK & THE CHUCKLES aka SKIP & FLIP


Band formed at the university of Arizona by Clyde Battin( Vocal, Guitar,Bass), Gary S. Paxton (Vocal, Guitar), Dick Gabriel (Sax Player), Bobby Verbosh (Rhythm guitar) and Reed Clements (Drums). In 1957 moved to Phoenix to record with Rev records the sides "Betty Jean / Bermuda Hots" present in the Complete Book of Doo Wop but really don't have a doo wop sound.

After Clyde and Gary they recorded as Chuck &The Chuckles on Shad, Clyde Gary and His Orchestra on Shad, Gary & Clyde on Rev and May Records and finally moved to the Brent label, with the new name Skip And Flip.


The duo charted in 1959 #11 with _It was It. and #71 with_Fancy Fancy. in 1961 charted again #11 with the Marvin & Johnny 1954 side_Cherry Pie. this tune have a imitation to the vocal group sound.

Acappella group from the Camden-Bellmawr,NJ section consisted of Pete Carbone (Lead), Bill Jerome(1st Tenor),Tony Stanzak(2nd Tenor),John DiVetro(Baritone) and Ed Scaduto (Bass).

They have been singing together since January 1967.members of the group attend Triton Regional High in Runnemede,NJ.

In June 1967 recorded two sides for Pantomine Records...

This interracial band from Baltimore,Maryland is present in all the doo wop guides with_Stupidity/King Of Fools. recorded for Atlantic Records in 1962 but really they don't have a doo wop sound.

The A side was witten by Salomon Burke for the band and later recorded by Salomon.the band consisted of Sitting from left to right: Roland Brown (drums), John Bryan (trombone), Albert Brown (alto sax),Calvin Offer (Lead Vocal) . Standing from left to right: Lonnie Brown (piano), Joe Wood (bass), John Coates (guitar) and white member Delbert"Del"Puschert(Tenor Sax) .
