The group based its name of a toilet paper and was formed in 1958 from the Central Avenue in Bushwick section of Brooklyn and on this street was a record company,R&M Records owened by Vic Mendiola.Vic liked the group and set up a recording session the group sing two original tunes_The Letter Of Love/Darling I Really Love You.these sides released in the late summer of 1958.
Unfortunately for The Markels the R&M Record soon faded into obscurity and when their bass joined the army the group broke up.
