The Crystals were the roots of the Philadelphian vocal group Billy & The Essentials(see in this blog).Billy Carlucci was their lead singer.he started singing with a group of guys in the Bartrum High School but in 1957 they broke up(one of these guys were Arnie Silver of The Dovell's fame).
In 1959 Billy would form another group in High School,The Crystals.In 1959-60 they recorded several demos as_Let's Pretend,Our Rendezvous,Canadian Sunset,Resolutions. or the classic Crow's tune_Gee.

The group visits to record companies but these was little interest.soon they achieve success as Billy & The Essentials.
