KENNY KOLE & THE HUSKIES...Klik records

Sorry for the poor quality of the group photo, this is taken from an old newspaper from 1958.

White group from the Connecticut area consisting of Ken Kolok "Kenny Kole" (Lead and Guitar) from Byran, Connecticut , Jack Covert (from the Ballads who recordd for Franwil records) from Branford , Dick Crane (he previously sang with a group called The Teardrops) from New Haven, Roger DeLuca from Norwalk and Dave Jones from Branford.

(L to R)...Ken Kolok, Jack Covert, Dick Crane, Roger DeLuca and Dave Jones.

They started in the spring of 1958 on the Uconn campus under the name of The Crystals singing from room to room having a good acceptance on the part of their student friends presenting themselves very soon to a talent contest where the judges classified their performance as "Original work, good blending and balance" this made the group decide to become professional by participating more actively in student activities such as Skitsofunia, dorm formals more serenading and an appearance In benefit of the CCC. On the outside, on such shows as WHNC TVs Bandstand and an in-person appearance at the Ritz Ballroom in Bridgeport.

All these performances led them to sign for Klik records where in 1958 they recorded the songs "Who / Sorry" under the name of Kenny Kole & The Huskies, the album was very popular locally, but for reasons of dedicating themselves to studies the group ended for parting without recording again.
