Georgie Manis also had a release "High School Love" b/w "Oriental Rock" on Gizmo Records (No record number) out of Arlington, Mass. There is a group backing him only on "High School Love."
I was told, by a recently deceased collector, that the group backing Georgie Manis, on Eclaire Records were the Five Shillings, as per collectors from the New England area. The Five Shillings, a (mixed group, recorded "Letter To An Angel"on Decca Records (See Marv Goldberg's article on the Five Shillings) I don't know the names of the Allecians ..... but could they be the names of the writers of "Teen Angel" on Eclaire? These names don't match up with the Shillings - so someone else needs to clear that up. The Five Shillings was a name that Decca Records assigned the group.
I have a record, out of Panama, on the Diamond Pearl Record Corp., "Bit By Bit" which is the same exact singers and harmony that backs Georgie Manis on "Teen Angel" on Eclaire Records. There are names that don't match up (Johhny R. and Johnny Hughes - probably made up) but the flip side, without group, "Atom Bomb" is the wildest Elvis sound-a-like record I ever heard and is definitely Georgie Manis.

LEAVE THIS OUT OF THE POST - Whitedoowopcollector - I'm going to try to learn how to upload pictures and clips for my publisher Bob Belniak, for Echoes and his newsletter and when/if I master it ..... then I'll go back into your site and help you more. You definitely should locate the Gizmo release and add the label in and check you tube for a clip. Same with Diamond Pearl - my research usually checks out - so don't hesitate to use this. Glad to help out - Bobby
