THE PRELLS (Skymac Records)

In the late 50's and early 60's at all the Asbury schools in New Jersey the Doo Wop sound was well introduced to both black and white youth and Patsy & The Prells was a group created by those youth, Patsy Siciliano, Frank Campanelli, John Petillo and Antony Orifici (Guitar). Later, Anthony Castellucia replaced Pat Siciliano.

The group recorded a demo vinyl with the songs "Bo-La-Le La-Le-La" / "I Believe" and although they were presented to various record labels none were interested in those songs, The Prells toured the New York, New Jersey , Pennsylvania Tri-State area, opening up for the 'Dick Clark Caravan of Stars' Summer tours and other recording acts of the era such as the Temptations, 4 Tops, 4 Seasons, Supremes, The Drifters the Tokens and many others. The Prells without any official recording disbanded in 1966.

On some web pages there is a recording by a group under the name of The Prells in 1963_It's a Wig / Peter Gunn, but In the doo wop guides were listed with a different B Side ...

-It's A Wing/Cash. Skymac Records-1964.

It is unknown if these recordings have any relationship with the aforementioned group.

This is the information posted by someone to the video of It's A Wig by The Prells:

The Prells is an African American singing group from Newark NJ. Gerald Harris is the lead singer. Ronald Darby is singing 1rst tenor, Robert Mosley is singing 2nd tenor, Nelson Rodgers is singing alto and Pete (not sure of his last name) is singing bass. This was there only recorded record. Thanks for your posting of this record. I hope everyone who hears it enjoys it. I haven't heard it since I was a little girl.
