The guys singing in the street corners around Esat 226th street and White Plains Road as well as at schools talent shows. In 1960 the group consisted of Jerry Morano (Lead), Jimmy Orce (1st Tenor), Richie Passerino (2nd Tenor), Randy Abbodanza (Baritone) and Sal DiLapri (Bass),they changed their name to The Stratfords (by the Stratford avenue) and signed Mike D’Agnese as their manager,this send the group on December,1960 to recording session on the Soundcraft Recording Studio in Manhattan where they recorded the demo_My Darling/I’ll Never Smile Again. Mike send the demo to MGM Records without any success.

Finally in September,1961 The Stratfords signed with Jim Azar label Universal Artists Records and released in February,1962 the sides_Promise Her Anything/Lover’s Lullabye. The A Side have a big local acceptacion and play on Jocko Herdenson’s and Murray the K’s radio shows also the group have in this time life perfomances in New Jersey and Connecticut.

The next recording of the group was also in 1962 as backup vocals for King Louis on his Universal Artist’s sides_Her Eyes Reveal/It Was A Fun.

The group continue singing and recording demos but without the support of another label they broke up in June of 1963.
