RICHIE & THE RENOWNS_Please Say That You Want Me

The Renowns began as an idea of Richie Cawthorne’s back in 1962 while he was a sophomore in High School.

He asked his good friend, Bob Moynihan to join him and shortly thereafter Steve Laidley, Johnny Costanzo and Mike DeGregorio rounded out the group/band. After a year of practice, around a piano at Richie’s parents house, The Renowns began to perform throughout the New England area.

In the spring of 1964, they were discovered and signed to a recording contract by Streke Records and released their single, _Please Say That You Want Me/That's What You're Doing To Me.

Later the record was re-released as by Richie & the Reknowns.

In 1965, with college and military obligations facing some, the composition of The Renowns changed. At that time, Ron Trigilio and Al D’Amico joined the group. The Renowns continued to perform until the end of 1966 when they disbanded.

Maggie Thrett was the actress who played Ruth Bonaventure in an early first season episode of Star Trek:The Original Series "Mudd's Women", 1966.

The Fairmonts_Lucky Guy

In 1960 brothers Ray and Myron Muffs start their own label Planet Records in the back of their Music Store on Empire Street in Providence,Rhode Island.

This Planet label don't have any relation with the Planet label of The Capris "There's A Moon Out Tonight" fame.

The brothers recorded local groups as The Fairmonts, a white group with members from the Rhode Island's sections of Providence and Cranston.

In 1960 the label released the Fairmont's single...

-Lucky Guy/Times And Places.

Both sides were writen by members Cosmo B. Del-Nigro who sang lead on the A Side and Robert Salvatore who sang Lead on the B Side.

The Rogues, know members were (left to right on the above picture);Bert,Bob,Tommy "Palm" Palmigiano(Lead/Guitar),Macey McCarthy and Andy.

From East Harlem,NY. The Rogues were one of those early white doo wop groups with Tommy Palm on Lead, Composer, Lyricist, Guitarist and singer Tommy "Palm" Palmigrano born in Brooklyn in New York in 1931, he create and recorded as Tommy Palm for his own label Bop Records and was a member of The Rogues on Old Town Records where Tommy composed many song for they.Unafortunely he died soon in 1959 of acute leukemia at the age of 28.
