THE QUARTER NOTES (De Luxe, Dot & Fox Records)

Hispanic group from Laredo,TX consisted of Rene Herrera,Rene Ornelas,Juan Orfila and Juan Garza Gongora,

In 1957...

Recorded two singles for the Linden, NJ based label De Luxe Records(became a King subsidiary label) owened by David & Jules Braun...

-Loneliness/Come De Nite(reissued on King).

-My Fantasy/Ten Minute To Midnight.

One for the California based label Dot Records...

-Like You Bug Me/Please Come Home.

( the recordings were made in Atlanta at Bill Lowery studio with Joe South on Guitar and Ray Stevens on piano).

And finally recorded an obscure single for the the Detroid based label Fox Records...

-Who Am I/Teen Age Blues.

The group toured around the country,Chicago,Miami Beach,New Orleans and visit Toronto in Canada.

In 1962 the group disbanded but the two Renes continue in the music bussines as the duo Rene & Rene and have spanish hits in 1964 with_Angelito. and in 1968 with_Lo Mucho Que Te Quiero.
