TOMMY ROE & THE SATINS.
-Caveman/I Got A Girl. Judd Records-1960 (sides with a poor doo wop sound).
In 1959 Tommy Roe with two friends from the Brown High school in Atlanta, Ga. Bobby West and Mike Clarck formed a band with the name of Tommy Roe & The Satins (by the doo wop group The Five Satins).
In March of 1960 they have a new member Drolet Bush aka Joe Lee Bush and recorded on the Atlanta,Ga label Mark IV the sides_Caveman/I Got A Girl.
Without success the band signed with Judd Records owned by Judd Phillips. A subsidiary of NRC in Atlanta, Ga. who in May re-released the single again without success.
Finally the disc have another re-release on the Atlanta, Ga. label Thrumpet Records (date unknow).
After another recording with Judd Records in October ,1960 with the sides_Shelia/Pretty Girl (not present in the doo wop guides) By 1961 the band were disbanded and Tommy took an industrial job as a solderer for General Electric, later landing a contract with ABC-Paramount as a solo artist and rerecording _Sheila. with an arrangement similar to Buddy Holly's_Peggy Sue.......
