THE THREETEENS aka THE CUPCAKES aka THE DREAMS


Girl trio from the Washington High School in Phoenix formed by Donna and Pam Crunk with Janis Cox.



In 1958 Donna and Pam ask the help of his father Connie Conway (real name is Connie Crunk) a musician, singer, songwriter, producer, and music teacher and this send the group to his friend  songwriter/producer Lee Hazelwood who with Lester Sill signed the girls to record at the Audio Recorders studio in Phoenix.

The group recorded_Dear 53310761 / Doowaddie. released in 1958 on the Phoenix label Rev Records owened by Bill Thorne & Frank Porter .


This record had Duane Eddy on Guitar (The number "53310761", refers to Elvis' U.S. Army serial number).

In 1959 recorded for Rev_For The Love Of Mike / X + Y = Z. later re-released in Todd Records.

Also in 1959 recorded for Time Records as THE CUPCAKES_ It's Willy / Deutsche Rock und Roll.

Followed by a back up work (uncredited) with 1960 Denny Reed sides on Trey Records_ A Teenager Feels It Too / Hot Water.

In 1961 the group was disbanded but Pam & Donna, moved to L.A.  with Lee Hazlewood and recorded four sides_Too Late / Inexperience / No Love Lost / I Forgot About You. In 1962 Smash Records released the first two songs under the name of The Dreams (Both sides of this record were written by Connie and Norma Conway).
